Abbey Court

Abbey Court involved the conversion of a Victorian property into four contemporary apartments.

The scheme retained the established character of the original building while comprehensively upgrading its internal accommodation and building systems.

Air source heat pumps and underfloor heating were introduced alongside improved insulation and contemporary kitchens, bathrooms and finishes.

Efficient spatial planning was particularly important within the existing structure, with each apartment designed to make effective use of available floor area while maintaining good levels of natural light and practical living space.

Abbey Court also provided an opportunity to develop several of the energy-efficiency and specification principles subsequently adopted across larger Barar Homes schemes.
