148 London Road

148 London Road involved the conversion and redevelopment of a former six-bedroom HMO to create four self-contained one and two-bedroom apartments. Rather than replacing the existing building, the development sought to make better use of the property while retaining its established character and contribution to the street.

Internally, the building was comprehensively reconfigured to provide efficient contemporary accommodation, with upgraded services, finishes and building performance throughout.

Externally, much of the original appearance was retained, allowing the completed scheme to sit naturally within its existing surroundings.

The project demonstrates the value that can be created through careful adaptation of existing buildings where wholesale redevelopment is neither necessary nor desirable.
